Arthur Henry Miller, 93

Albany, MN

July 17, 1921-May 5, 2015

 

Arthur “Art” Miller, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, passed away Tuesday, May 5 at the Albany Area Hospital with his wife by his side.  A Funeral service will be held at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Albany on Friday, May 8 with visitation from 2-4 and services at 4:00pm.

Art was born on July 17, 1921 to Robert Sr. and Fredarica (Pfuhl) Miller in St. Cloud, and graduated from Albany High School.  After finishing school, Art was in the U.S. Army in from 1942-1945 and proudly served in WWII.  On May 22, 1952 he married Martha Douvier at St. Catherine’s in Farming. Together they raised ten children.  Art was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church for many years.  He was also a longtime member of VFW Post 7050 and served as commander of that post from 1986-1987. He was also a longtime member of the Albany American Legion, serving as commander there for the year 1989.

Holdingford

Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Arthur M. Viehauser, 94, of Holdingford, will be at 11:00 AM on Monday, May 4, 2015 at Church of All Saints - St. Mary Catholic Church in Holdingford.  Father David Grundman will officiate and burial will take place in the parish cemetery.  Arthur passed away peacefully early Wednesday morning with family by his side at the Mother of Mercy Nursing Home in Albany.  There will be a visitation from 10:00 AM until the time of service Monday at the church.  Arrangements are being made with Miller-Carlin Funeral Home, Holdingford.

Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 2, 2015 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, St. Anna for Helen Schmainda, 98 who died Friday, April 24, 2015 at Cherrywood Advanced Living, Richmond.  Rev. Al Stangl will officiate and an interment will be in the parish cemetery.  Friends and relatives may call from 9 to 11 a.m. prior to the service at the church in St. Anna. Arrangements are being handled by the Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home of St. Cloud.

Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday, April 20, 2015 at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church in Avon for Ernest W. Senart, who died Thursday, April 16, 2015, at Mother of Mercy Care Center in Albany.  The Rev. Blane Wasnie, O.S.B. officiated and burial was in the parish cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to the Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Avon.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 13 at Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Albany. Rev. Cletus Connors, O.S.B. officiated with Rev. Bradley Jenniges, O.S.B. concelebrating. Interment was in the parish cemetery.
Visitation was held from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, April 12 and from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, April 13 at the Seven Dolors Gathering Area in Albany.  Parish prayers were held at 4 p.m. followed by the American Legion at 6 p.m. and a rosary immediately following by the Knights of Columbus Sunday evening.

EDWARD MARION WELTERS

Edward Marion Welters, age 85, of Verona, Missouri, passed away after a sudden illness, at 10:57 p.m. on Wednesday, April 8, 2015, at the Bentonview Park Health and Rehabilitation in Monett, Missouri.   He was born May 17, 1929, in St. Anna, Minnesota, the son of the late Peter J. and Mary (Bieniek) Welters.  He was also preceded in death by an infant son, Lawrence Edward Welters, and a brother, Allen Welters.  On April 26, 1952, he married Celestine “Sally” Mary Moonen in Holdingford, Minnesota.  They moved to Verona, Missouri in 1956.

Ed was a dairy farmer, did local custom farming and his machinery and tractor trading evolved into Welters Farm Supply in 1974.  He specialized in Minneapolis Moline Tractors and was a good mechanic and blacksmith.  Ed enjoyed his family and friends, his animals, telling stories of life, and helping people through his business.  He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Verona.
