Multiple agencies battle Collegeville Township fire

A fire broke out on 160th Avenue in Collegeville Township on the afternoon of March 24. According to the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office, the home belongs to 48-year-old Joseph Rogers. A nearby resident reported the fire. A Stearns County Deputy was first on scene and reported the home fully engulfed with the roof partially collapsed.
According to Avon Fire Chief Joel Richter, no one was at home at the time of the fire. It was reported that pets were in the residence, one of which was rescued by fire personnel.
Avon Fire Department was assisted on the scene by St. Joseph, Cold Spring and Albany Fire Departments, the Stearns County Sheriff’s Department and Gold Cross Ambulance.
The State Fire Marshal was also on the scene and the fire is under further investigation by their agency.
