Sartell-Albany senior Rachel Tiede will be remembered many years for her swimming.
Her time of 1:58.82 in the 200 freestyle FS and 5:24.03 in the 500FS brought her first place at the Section 6A meet Friday and Saturday, Nov. 9 and 10. In both races she bettered her times from the preliminary round.
The memory of what she did following her 200FS victory, might well out last her records at Albany and anything she does at state. Right after she received her championship medal she looked to the group of volunteers helping and asked Marisa Wood to join her on the victory podium. Wood, a senior at Sartell, is the defending 200FS and 500FS state Class A champion. She set records in both events last year.
